To the Honorable City Council:
I have received a communication nominating the following individual to the Wage Theft Advisory Committee, to fill a position previously held by Bill Dovhan, expiring 12/31/2026, as follows.
NOMINATION OF: Somerville Community Corporation; Gonzalo J. Puigbo
NOMINEE: Gonzalo J. Puigbo
BACKGROUND: Gonzalo J. Puigbo is the Chief Executive Officer for Somerville Community Corporation and oversees our Economic Opportunity Program. SCC’s First Source Program on workforce development aims to teach our clients and residents around the core skills of the hiring process, which includes: resume writing skills, dressing for an interview, mock interviewing and navigating the internet for jobs.
We also empower our clients and residents to negotiate wages, upon a successful hiring decision. We brainstorm and practice techniques to push back on employer hesitation and we coach and support our clients to fight for their workforce rights.
CITY OF RESIDENCE: Natick, MA
