To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the appropriation of $955,000 from the Participatory Budgeting Stabilization Fund, for the purpose of implementing the winning projects from Somerville's first Participatory Budgeting cycle. The five projects selected by Somerville residents include:

                     Support direct community food access.

                     Bike lane acceleration.

                     Bus stop improvements.

                     Faster Big Belly trash can adoption for rat abatement.

                     Install shade structures in parks and public squares.

The attached memo outlines the initiative, results, and project descriptions.
