To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the creation of the Emergency Response Stabilization Fund, under the provisions of MGL 40, Section 5B. This Fund will be used for the purpose of maintaining, distributing, and providing food, temporary shelter, and other common necessaries of life,  for residents displaced by public exigency, emergency, or distress as codified in M.G.L. Chapter 40, Section 19.

Receipts for this fund may include grants, donations, and appropriations from the tax levy or reserves.

Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
