To the Honorable City Council:
I respectfully request a supplemental appropriation of $24,000.00 to the Law Department's Salaries Account 0115151-511100 for the purpose of correcting an anticipated deficit.
The FY2023 Law Department Personal Services Budget did not appropriately include the salary for the Law Department Paralegal in the amount of $89,156.84. Given this oversight and the expectation of hiring Law Department staff at higher salary steps, we project the Law Department's Personal Services budget to be at a deficit at fiscal year end. The anticipated deficit is estimated to be $24,000.00. Therefore, in order to address immediate concern, I am requesting a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $24,000.00.
