Requesting acceptance of a $22,692 grant, with required match, from the Metro Mayors Coalition Shannon Initiative to the Police Department for youth violence prevention.

To the Honorable City Council:

 

I respectfully request that your Honorable City Council accept and approve expending a grant of $22,692.00 from [Metro Mayors Shannon Initiative to the Police Department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant requires some level of matching funds from the city. The purpose of this grant is to  be used in a manner consistent with the strategies and objectives outlined in the Metro Mayors CSI Shannon Grant. Awarded funds can be used to supplement but not supplant any current youth violence prevention and anti-gang efforts.
