Standing in solidarity with the Tufts Labor Coalition and Tufts dining workers.

WHEREAS,                     The Somerville City Council reaffirms its support of Resolution 211918, which supported the advocacy and demands of the Tufts Labor Coalition, unanimously supported on May 13th, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS,                     Since that day, Tufts University has not changed its position and continues to contest the unemployment claims of the more than 100 Tufts dining workers whom the University is not employing over the Summer of 2021; and

 

WHEREAS,                     These workers have been left without income for now over a month, and time is running out to change the Tufts Administration’s position; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

 

RESOLVED,                      That the Somerville City Council continues to stand in solidarity with the Tufts Labor Coalition and with Tufts dining workers surrounding this ongoing campaign.
