To the Honorable City Council:

 

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant of $187,200.00 from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs to the Public Space and Urban Forestry Division, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. Matching funds totaling $10,000 have already been appropriated by this Council in the FY27 budget.

 

The purpose of this grant is to pay for the Green and Cool Somerville: Sustainable Sidewalk and Trees project.
