Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $87,848 from the Executive Office of Aging and Independence to the Council on Aging, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant is to be awarded over three installments: 16% in early February, 17.33% in late February, and 16.67% in mid-April 2026. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds.

The purpose of this yearly funding is to pay for refreshments, offset the cost of meals, and to provide educational, social, and recreational programming to our senior community.

Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.

Respectfully submitted,

Jake Wilson, Mayor
