To the Honorable Board:
I respectfully request that your Honorable Board accept a grant of $6707.00 from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security / Department of Fire Services to the Somerville Fire Dept, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for funding of the SAFE (Student Awareness of Fire Education) program provided by Somerville firefighters. This program provides the resources to enable firefighters to conduct fire and life safety education programs in our schools.
