Official Text

That the Chief of Police create a restorative justice program in the city similar to those used in Cambridge, Arlington and Boston.  (In 2018, Massachusetts criminal justice reform legislation began allowing restorative justice programs, as an alternative to criminal justice prosecutions, at the discretion of local chiefs of police and district attorneys.  Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan is participating in this program, as are the police departments in Cambridge, Arlington, Boston and many other cities.)
