Requesting the acceptance of a $1,500 grant from the Metro Mayors Community Safety Initiative, for the Police Department's Shannon Grant for youth violence prevention.

To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request your acceptance of a Grant from the Metro Mayors Community Safety Initiative in the amount of $1,500.00. These funds will be used in a manner consistent with the strategies and objectives outlined in the Year 7 Metro Mayors CSI Shannon Grant application. Awarded funds can be used to supplement but not supplant any current youth violence prevention and anti-gang efforts.

In accordance with M.G.L., Chapter 44, Section 53A, which requires a vote of the Board of Alderman for the expenditure of grants, or gifts from the federal government and from charitable foundation, private corporation, or an individual, or from the Commonwealth, a County or Municipality or agency thereof, I request that you accept this grant for final approval.
