To the Honorable City Council:

I respectfully request that your Honorable City Council accept a grant of $191,075 from the MA Department of Energy Resources Green Communities Division to the Office of Sustainability & Environment, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for energy efficiency projects in schools and administrative buildings.  Due to the competitive nature of this grant, the City received only approximately 90% of the requested funding; this gap will be addressed through cost reductions and project scope adjustments.
