Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council rescind Council Order, 23-0977, an "appropriation of $1,300,000, from the Facility Renovation Stabilization Fund for a Feasibility Study to create new building space to accommodate the Benjamin Brown School, the Winter Hill Community Innovation School,  and additional educational programs defined by the enrollment study." This measure was approved by your Honorable Council on June 8, 2023.

This authorization did not contain the standard language that the MSBA requires to be eligible for their grant funding.  Consequently, we seek rescission of this item.  The Administration will submit a new item requesting a similar appropriation with the required boilerplate language from the MSBA.

Appropriate staff will be available to address any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.

Respectfully Submitted,

Katjana Ballantyne, Mayor
