Sec. 2-124. - Settlement of claims against the city.

The head of a department may, with the written approval of the mayor and the city solicitor, make settlements of claims for damages against the city. The city solicitor shall also with the approval of the mayor make settlement of any legal actions brought against the city. The expense so incurred shall not exceed $5,000.00 on any one claim or legal action and may be paid by the city treasurer in anticipation of the monthly payroll.
