To the Honorable Board:
I respectfully request that your honorable Board approve net-metering agreements that have been negotiated between the City of Somerville and two solar providers, ECA Solar and SunWealth. (This Board previously reviewed and approved similar agreements with these vendors in September.) These net-metering agreements would provide immediate and long-term energy cost reductions for City operations, as well as directly support the development of new solar energy systems in Somerville and the surrounding Boston area. The terms of these contracts provide a guaranteed solar electricity output and a fixed net-metering credit discount rate that will be applied as dollar credits to the City of Somerville's electric accounts for 20 years.
