To the Honorable Board:
The following are responses by Traffic and Parking to various B.O.A. Orders of August 26, 2010.
B.O.A. #189923: That the Director of Traffic and Parking inventory all City designated handicapped parking spaces in the City and provide a map of same on the City’s website so that drivers may easily locate them when traveling in the City.
Traffic and Parking will compile a list of all handicap parking spaces approved by the City’s Traffic Commission and in effect as of September 1, 2010. This list will be forwarded to the appropriate Department to be placed on a City map to be included on the City’s website.
B.O.A. #189929: That the Director of Traffic and Parking review the intersection of Beech St and Somerville Ave for possible inappropriate No Parking space allocations.
Traffic and Parking has reviewed Beech St at Somerville Ave. The Somerville Ave reconstruction project contractor installed the No Parking signs at this location inappropriately. The contractor was requested to install these signs properly. When properly installed there will no parking on Beech St to the intersection of Somerville Ave for a distance of approximately 25’.
B.O.A. #189936: That the Director of Traffic and Parking and the Commissioner of Public Works when blocking off parking spaces, place signs with dates indicating when spaces are unavailable for parking instead of using No Parking signs without indicating dates.
Traffic and Parking presently complies with the above practice and will continue to follow this procedure.
