Dear Honorable Board:

The City of Somerville has been awarded three grants in the amount of $200,000 each ($600,000 aggregate) from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The grants are to be used for site cleanup activities at the former Kiley Barrel site.

In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 44, Section 53A, which requires a vote of the Board of Aldermen for grants or gifts from the federal government, I hereby request you to accept these three grants and to authorize their expenditure.
