Official Text
To the Honorable City Council:
The data on the Tufts University COVID-19 dashboard show 33 COVID cases reported over the last 7 days (reporting through Feb 22). This is a 7-day test positivity rate of 0.15%, which is more than 10-fold lower than the state average over the same period (1.8%). There are 59 students in isolation and 103 in quarantine. The average processing time for our tests remains well under 24 hours. Over the last 7 days, the average processing time was 14.68 hours.
Our surveillance protocols, contact tracing and isolation/quarantine protocols are working well. In Massachusetts, institutions of higher education, through surveillance testing, have kept their positivity rate remarkably low. We maintain rigorous physical distancing protocols as well as enforce our mandatory testing, isolation and quarantine guidance as well as hand hygiene and mask wearing.
Let me know if you have any additional questions or require more information.
