To the Honorable City Council:
Memorialization Committee respectfully conveys to this Council on 10/22/2024 the Memorialization Committee met and unanimously approved to name a new park at 217 Somerville Ave in honor of Ken Kelly who passed away in 2015. Mr. Kelly was a local entrepreneur and restaurateur, known for bringing the Independent, Brass Union/Precinct/Vera's to Union Square. Mr. Kelly was also a board member with the Somerville Chamber of Commerce and Union Square Main Streets. The new park is set to be opened in 2025.
Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.
