Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

In response to #206783:

That the Administration and this Board support Bill H2683, "An Act relative to protecting consumers of natural gas and electricity from paying for leaked and unaccounted for gas.".

The Administration is submitting draft resolutions that affirm the Somerville City Council's support for two pieces of legislation related to this topic: Massachusetts House H.2849/S1940, “An Act for Utility Transition to Using Renewable Energy (FUTURE)” and H.2848, “An Act to Ensure Gas Safety and Consumer Protection.” These resolutions were developed in consultation with Somerville Mothers Out Front, a community group that advocates for a healthy and safe climate future.

Please contact me if I can be of further assistance.
