Official Text

To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request that your Honorable Board vote, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 59, Section 21C(k) of the Massachusetts General Laws, to place a question on the November 8th, 2016 ballot to seek voter approval to allow the City to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so called, the amounts required to pay for the bond(s) issued in order to design, engineer, construct, and equip the new Somerville High School.

In order to place the question before the voters of the City of Somerville on the November 8, 2016 ballot, a two-thirds vote of the Board of Aldermen is required to be submitted to the Secretary of State by August 3, 2016.

My staff and I will be available to discuss any questions your Board may have.

Respectfully submitted,

Joseph A. Curtatone

Mayor
