Requesting to appropriate $243,000 from Undesignated CPA Fund Balance for the rehabilitation of the historic windows at the Mystic Water Works per the recommendation of the Community Preservation Committee.

To the Honorable Board:

Per the Community Preservation Committee’s recommendation on March 4, 2015, I respectfully request that your Honorable Board appropriate $243,000 for the Somerville Housing Authority to rehabilitate and restore the historic windows at Mystic Water Works, which the Housing Authority will develop into a 25-unit affordable housing complex for senior or disabled households. The appropriation will be allocated to the Historic Resources CPA category and funded from Undesignated CPA Fund Balance.

The Committee attached the following conditions to the recommended appropriation: 1) a perpetual preservation restriction; 2) a public access requirement; and 3) a review and comment session with the Historic Preservation Commission.
