To the Honorable City Council:
The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the appropriation of $154,136 from the Receipts Reserved for Appropriation-Settlement of Claims Account (Fund 3203, Org. 32034, Object 484004) to the School Department-Legal Settlement Account (S0208991-530100), to reimburse the School Department from receipts received from a successful insurance settlement.
Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 44, Section 53 requires Legislative Body approval of an insurance settlement in excess of $150,000.
Appropriate staff will be available to address any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.
