To the Honorable Board:

 

Agenda Item 197148                     

That the Director of Traffic and Parking install a STOP sign on Melville Road at its intersection of Ten Hills Road.

 

Traffic and Parking will install a Stop sign on Melville Rd at Ten Hills Rd.

 

Agenda Item 197150                     

That the Director of Traffic and Parking install a CHILDREN PLAYING sign on Evergreen Avenue between School and Marshall Streets.

 

Traffic and Parking will install a Caution Children sign on Evergreen Ave between School St and Marshall St.

 

Agenda Item 197154                     

That the Director of Traffic and Parking and the Traffic Engineer report to this Board whether STOP signs should be added to the intersection of Morrison Avenue and Highland Road to make it a four-way stop, to slow speeding traffic on Morrison Avenue.

 

The installation of Stop signs is governed by the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).  Per the MUTCD Stop signs cannot be installed to slow traffic.  A Stop sign cannot be installed on Morrison Ave at Highland Rd.

 

Agenda Item 197221                     

That the Director of Traffic and Parking allow resident permit parking at the Washington Street parking lot across from the Argenziano School after 7 PM weekdays, all day Saturdays, and all day during the Summer.

 

This is a municipal lot that may be used by the public from 7pm-7am Monday-Friday and on the weekends providing it is not posted for special events at the school.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking post signs prohibiting parking at 34 Highland Avenue on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 7 AM-Noon to allow the dumpster there to be emptied.

 

Traffic and Parking does not post temporary No Parking signs to allow dumpsters to be emptied.

 

Agenda Item 197251                     

That the Director of Traffic and Parking contact the Ward One Alderman to arrange a community meeting to discuss traffic issues along Mt. Vernon Street and Broadway.

 

Traffic and Parking has hired a consultant to investigate the timing of the lights at Mt. Vernon Street and Broadway.  We are happy to meet with the Alderman and community to share the findings.
