To the Honorable City Council:
I have received a communication nominating the following individual to the Wage Theft Advisory Committee, as follows.
NOMINATION OF: Our Revolution Somerville
NOMINEE: Colleen Fitzpatrick
BACKGROUND: Colleen Fitzpatrick is a lifelong activist with eight years professional experience working in labor and community organizing. She prides herself on her ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and to inspire others to get involved in making the changes they want to see. Colleen is a passionate advocate and defender of worker's rights, and has developed a solid understanding of the protections that union and non-union employees have under local, State and Federal laws. She views the labor movement as an important vehicle for advancing economic, social and racial equity in our communities. She is interested in being a part of Somerville's Wage Theft Advisory committee because she is deeply invested in this great city and wants to help ensure that our values of fairness and decency are upheld. She knows the strength of this important and unique Wage Theft Ordinance depends on how well it is monitored and enforced, and looks forward to working with other members of the committee to hold employers accountable.
