Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

On June 5, 2019, I submitted to your Honorable Council my recommendations for a proposed Fiscal Year 2020 General Fund Appropriations Budget for the various departments of municipal government. My recommended FY 2020 General Fund Appropriation totaled $238,234,626.

I am submitting to your Honorable Council a revised FY2020 Appropriation Order that reflects the nine hundred one thousand, three hundred thirty three dollars ($ 901,333) in reductions recommended by your Honorable Council's Finance Committee while meeting as a Committee of the Whole on June 26, 2019. The revised Appropriation Order also includes the following budgetary corrections: two thousand, four hundred forty six dollars ($2,446) added to the Clerk of Committees Personal Services Account to fully fund an Assistant Clerk of Committees position.

The attached Appropriation Order provides the breakdown by department of the totals for Personal Services, Ordinary Maintenance, Capital Outlay, and Special Items needed for the Council's formal adoption of the FY2020 General Fund Budget. The result of these changes is to bring the General Fund Appropriation for FY2020 to $237,335,739. This represents a reduction of $898,887 from the original budget submission.

I would like to commend the City Council for their diligence and efforts during this budget process.

Respectfully Submitted,

Joseph A. Curtatone, Mayor
