Dear Honorable Members of the City Council:
The Mayor respectfully conveys to this Council as a supplement to the Mayor’s proposed FY 2027 budget, a list of the 29 positions that were eliminated, 6 positions that were downgraded, 5 positions that were transferred, and 8 positions that were added in this budget.
Reductions to staffing were a last resort after revenue increasing measures, fee increases, use of stabilization funds to pay down debt, operational budget cuts, and use of grant and settlement funds still left a need to reduce more spending to balance the budget. Reductions were made after careful analysis and deliberation to minimize impacts to service delivery.
