To the Honorable Board:

 

I respectfully request that your honorable Board vote to authorize the City to submit to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) a Statement of Interest for the Winter Hill Community School located at 115 Sycamore Street, Somerville, which describes and explains deficiencies and the associated priority category.

 

Specifically, I request authorization of the following Statement of Interest:

“Resolved: Having convened in an open meeting on February 11, 2016, prior to the closing date, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Somerville, in accordance with its charter, by-laws, and ordinances, has voted to authorize the Superintendent to submit to the MSBA the Statement of Interest dated Friday, February 12, 2016 for the Winter Hill School located at 115 Sycamore Street, Somerville, MA 02145, which describes and explains the following deficiencies and the priority category(s) for which an application may be submitted to the MSBA in the future: Category 5 - Replacement, renovation or modernization of school facility systems, such as roofs, windows, boilers, heating and ventilation systems, to increase energy conservation and decrease energy related costs in a school facility (specifically roof and window replacement for this project) and hereby further specifically acknowledges that by submitting this Statement of Interest Form, the MSBA in no way guarantees the acceptance or the approval of an application, the awarding of a grant or any other funding commitment from the MSBA, or commits the City of Somerville to filing an application for funding with the MSBA.”
