That the Director of Strategic Planning and Community Development (Transportation and Infrastructure) report to this Board on measures being taken to design streets and bicycle lanes, and educate drivers and bicyclists, so that drivers are more aware and bicyclists are encouraged and able to ride beyond the door-opening zone, as a large percentage of serious and fatal bicyclist accidents occur due to bicyclists being “doored” by drivers leaving their cars.
