To the Honorable City Council:

I respectfully request an appropriation of $500,000 from the Unreserved Fund Balance ("Free Cash") Account to the Open Space Acquisition Stabilization Fund for the purpose of acquiring new publicly-accessible open space. The Somerville community set the goal of creating 125 new acres of open space in Somerville by 2030 during the first SomerVision process.  The appropriation is in conformance with the financial plan suggested in the Strategy Memo of the Open Space Creation Task Force issued in August 2019.
