To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request your approval to accept an award from the Bureau of Justice Assistance under the 2011 Bulletproof Vest Partnership in the amount of $21,200. The requirement of the grant is that each jurisdiction be responsible for providing at least fifty percent of the cost of each qualifying vest purchased.

In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 44, Section 53A, which requires a vote of the Board of Aldermen for the expenditure of grants, or gifts from the federal government and from a charitable foundation, private corporation, or an individual, or from the Commonwealth, a County or Municipality or Agency thereof, we request your approval to move this request to the Board.
