Dear Honorable Board of Alderman:

I respectfully request authorization of a Special Events Revolving Fund for Fiscal Year 2011 under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 44, Section 53E ½.  This fund is designed to reimburse the Department of Public Works for labor and equipment used for preparation and clean up costs related to special events held in public areas involving vendors and private concerns such as but not limited to various road races and festivals.  The services funded include payment for the following categories; employee salaries, wages and benefits, custodial costs, utilities, ordinary maintenance and supplies.

Receipts credited to the fund include special event user fees and charges. Authorized officer is the DPW Commissioner.  The expenditure cap for this fund is $15,000.
