To the Honorable City Council:
The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $82,357.30 from the Executive Office of Aging and Independence to the Council on Aging, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds.
The purpose of this grant is to pay for social programming, educational and recreational events, physical and mental health programs, equipment and other needs of the senior population in Somerville. This is the second portion of a $164,715.00 allocation for FY 25.
Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.
