To the Honorable Board:
I respectfully request the use of available funds in the amount of $11,091.20. From the HHS Salaries account for the purpose of establishing the new position of Health Assistant. The new position of Health Assistant will be compensated at the rate of $36,050.00 per year.
Due to recent staff changes, HHS has the opportunity to streamline the position to better meet the needs of our students and meeting the state requirements. HHS - School Nursing recently had 2 staff resign and 1 staff retire. Prior to their departure staff were able to meet the state required deadlines and HHS has met all requirement and are up-to-date on testing mandates/reporting for this school year.
After completing an internal assessment due to changing state requirement, we request to shift from 3 PT staff positions to 1-FTE. This will provide continuity and consistency of student testing, streamline reporting, and less interruption to student academic day while filling state reporting requirements and deadlines. Please note that a part-time (19/hrs per week) position will continue.
