To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a non-monetary grant  from the Department of Energy Resources to the Office of Sustainability and Environment, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds.

The purpose of this grant is to pay for technical assistance in writing a Municipal Building Decarbonization Roadmap. This roadmap is a prerequisite for the city joining the DOER’s Climate Leaders program, which gives access to building decarbonization grant funding.

Respectfully submitted,

Katjana Ballantyne, Mayor
