To the Honorable City Council:

 

I respectfully request that your Honorable City Council accept a grant of $100,000.00 per year for 2020, 2021 and 2022 from Massachusetts Department of Health, BSAS to the Health and Human Services Department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for Opioid over-dose prevention and education for homeless and at-risk for homeless in Somerville and Cambridge. HHS is the lead agency for a collaborative effort with Somerville Homeless Coalition, Fenway Health and Cambridge Health Department.
