ORDER                                          10.                      Order

That the Commissioner of Public Works evaluate the low-hanging lines (from multiple poles) behind 52 Powder House Blvd.

RESOLUTION                     Highway Superintendent is looking into this situation.

 

ORDER                                           18.                      Order

(ID # 14370)                      By Ald. Sullivan, McLaughlin, Connolly, Rossetti, White Jr.

That the Commissioner of Public Works repair the pedestrian signal push button at the corner of Middlesex Avenue and Foley Street.

RESOLUTION                     That is MassDOT. We have notified them of the problem.

That the Commissioner of Public Works evaluate the hanging utility cables on Mead and Claremon Streets to ensure they are high enough to avoid large delivery trucks.

RESOLUTION                     We have Lights and Lines inspect and make repairs if possible. If not, we will notify the proper utilities.

That the Commissioner of Public Works replace the 3 raised sidewalk panels at 61 Dartmouth Street. (2nd request)

That the City Engineer monitor contractor activities related to sidewalk and street repair, for quality of work and adherence to city standards for accessibility.

RESOLUTION                     I have assigned an engineer to oversee the work of the contractor to be sure they are meeting the City’s specifications.

That the Commissioner of Public Works trim the weeds at the utility pole at Beacon Street and Concord Avenue to allow for a line of sight for vehicles entering and exiting Concord Avenue.

RESOLUTION                     Will be completed by 6/27/16.

That the Commissioner of Public Works trim the trees on Washington Street from Beacon Street to Webster Avenue and assess any trees that appear damaged or have no new growth.

RESOLUTION                     Will be completed by 7/8/16.

That the Commissioner of Public Works provide an alternative method to protect the portion of Perry Park where new grass growth is being promoted, since caution tape is not sufficient.

RESOLUTION                     The Unit A Foreman, Steve Quinn, will put additional fence around that area and believes that will work.

That the Commissioner of Public Works repair the brick walkway between Holland Street and College Avenue in Davis Square Plaza.

RESOLUTION                     We will send a crew to inspect this area and assess for what repairs need to me made.

That the Commissioner of Public Works inspect the damaged wall at 93 Pearson Road and take action to remedy the situation.

RESOLUTION                     The city replaced the sidewalk in front of this wall approx. 2 years ago. The City had recently repaired the sidewalk at this location. The wall was in disrepair at that time. The DPW did not damage the wall. The repairs are the responsibility of the property owner.
