To the Honorable City Council:
The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the use of available funds in the City Clerk Salaries account (0116151-511000) in the amount of $3,590.41 to reclassify the Licensing Operations Manager position to an Assistant City Clerk-Vital Records & Licensing position, and the Legislative Services Manager position to an Assistant City Clerk-Legislative Services position.
The Assistant City Clerk-Vital Records & Licensing position will be classified at Grade/Step III-3 at a weekly salary of $1,765.38. The amount requested covers the difference between that and the current Licensing Operations Manager weekly salary of $1,658.65 (Grade/Step II-16) for the period January 5, 2026-June 30, 2026.
The Assistant City Clerk-Legislative Services will be classified at Grade/Step III-5 at a weekly salary of $1,800.00. The amount requested covers the difference between that and the current Legislative Services Manager weekly salary of $1,765.38 (Grade/Step III-3) for the period January 5, 2026-June 30, 2026.
The Assistant City Clerk position (Grade/Step IV-1) will be eliminated, representing a reduction of $53,730.65 (weekly salary of $2,115.38) for the period January 5, 2026-June 30, 2026. This proposal represents a net savings of $50,104.24 for FY2026, and a continued annual savings of approximately $103,000 in future years.
