To the Honorable City Council:

I respectfully request that your Honorable City Council accept and approve expending a grant of $84,802 from the MA Department of Energy Resources to the Office of Sustainability and Environment, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for (4) energy conservation projects in municipally owned buildings that were identified by the Office of Sustainability and Environment. These projects will improve the municipal infrastructure, while reducing energy use, energy costs, and carbon emissions in the city.
