body
Official Text
To the Honorable Board of Aldermen:Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Board order 189610, "that the Assessor provide the Committee on Housing and Community Development with the number of residential homeowner foreclosures vs. non-residential homeowner foreclosures." I was recently asked this same question by Phil Ercolini and sent an e-mail response that he tells me was forwarded to the Board. However, I am happy to provide this information to the Board again.Since calendar year 2007 through April of 2010, we have had 115 foreclosures of residential properties. The number per year is as follows: Calendar Yr. Number 2007 20 2008 45 2009 28 thru April 2010 22 Total 115As for resident vs. non-resident and type, during this period, the following can be observed: Type Total # # owner-occupied* Single Family 15 |910| Two Family 47 10 Three Family 17 |910| Condo units 33 |910| Apt. bldgs. with 4-8 units|99||910| Totals 115 25A little over 21% of the foreclosed residential properties were owner occupied at the time of repossession(please note that I simply checked to see if the owner at that time, prior to foreclosure was receiving the residential exemption.). Respectfully submitted,
