Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council appropriate $37,575 from the Capital Projects Stabilization Fund to procure Early and Mail In Voting machinery  for the Election Department.  The equipment request consists of a High-Speed Addressing System and a High-Volume, High-Speed Mail Opener for all types of mail. The machines will greatly reduce processing time.  A description is attached to this communication.

The cost for this equipment will likely be reimbursed to the City by the State as the State Auditor has ruled that this expense constitutes an unfunded state mandate.

Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Respectfully Submitted,

Katjana Ballantyne, Mayor
