To the Honorable Board:
Agenda Item 201497
That the Director of Traffic and Parking report to this Board on the Traffic Calming Neighborhood Action Program, explain why it has taken over 8 months for petitions to be considered, and clarify when the 25 petitions submitted are likely to receive a response.
After a Traffic Calming Neighborhood Action Petition is submitted to Traffic and Parking, a matrix is completed by Traffic and Parking with data required from both Traffic and Parking and the Somerville Police Department. When all the matrixes are completed a priority list is established based on the data compiled in the matrix. Traffic and Parking has completed its portion of the matrix. Traffic and Parking is waiting for data from the Somerville Police Department regarding minimum and maximum average daily traffic on the particular street. When this data is received, Transportation and Planning, SPD and Traffic and Parking will review possible traffic calming options then petitioners will then receive notification of the status.
Agenda Item 201506
That the Director of Traffic and Parking address traffic issues at the corner of Bonair and Edmands Streets.
Traffic and Parking staff will observe the corner of Bonair and Edmands Streets. Any observed traffic issues will be addressed.
Agenda Item 201510
