Requesting an appropriation and authorization to borrow $603,998 in a bond for an Information Technology Virtualization Project.

To the Honorable Board:

I hereby request, subject to the approval of your Honorable Board, an appropriation in the amount of $603,998.00 for the replacement of outdated and unsupported stand-alone servers with a virtualized server environment and authorization for the City Treasurer, with the approval of the Mayor to borrow $603,998.00 to meet said appropriation.

To meet said appropriation, the Treasurer will be authorized to borrow $603,998.00 as provided by M.G.L. Chapter 44.

The IT Virtualization Project is part of the City’s Capital Investment Plan. Both hardware and software will be procured in the borrowing.
