To the Honorable Board:
• B.O.A. Order #192110…That the Director of Traffic and Parking examine the pedestrian signal at Weston Ave and Broadway and suggest safety improvements.
Traffic and Parking has examined the pedestrian signal at Weston Ave and Broadway. A work order has been issued to the Sign Maintenance crew to reinstall a pedestrian sign with arrow on the pedestrian signal on the south side of Broadway and to adjust the pedestrian sign on the north side of Broadway so that the sign is properly positioned for the motorists line of sight for WB travel. Traffic and Parking has also notified DPW that the base on the pedestrian pole on the south side of Broadway needs to be properly secured.
• B.O.A. #192115…That the Director of Traffic and Parking paint a pedestrian crosswalk markings at the intersection of College Ave and Chapel/Hall Ave.
Traffic and Parking has previously reviewed this intersection several times regarding the installation of a crosswalk. Due to the horizontal and vertical cures on College Ave and associated limited sight and stopping distances at this intersection, Traffic and Parking has stated that this location due to safety concerns does not meet the criteria and professional Traffic Engineering standards for the installation of a crosswalk. A crosswalk cannot safely be installed at this intersection due to its current construction.
• B.O.A. Order ##192152…That the Commissioner of Public Works replace the missing GEORGE STREET sign on Broadway.
A work order has been submitted to replace the missing street sign at George Street.
• B.O.A. Order # 192109…That this Board of Aldermen hereby requests that the Traffic Commission consider extending visitor parking from 48 to 72 hours.
As requested, Traffic and Parking will submit the Board Order to the Traffic Commission for their review and consideration.
