Responses from Traffic and Parking to 5/27/10 Board Orders:
B.O.A. #14 (#189588)
That the Director of Traffic and parking make recommendations to crate a safer traffic flow at the intersection of Spring and Atherton Streets.
Traffic and parking has conducted a site review of this location and also reviewed the accident history of this intersection over the last 10 years as provided by the Somerville Police Department. There has been one accident at this location in the last 3 years and 5 accidents in the last 10 years. This location by all measurements is a low accident location. The traffic signs for this location are appropriate. No further actions are required at this location.

That the Director of Traffic and parking increase PCO presence on Columbia St to enforce parking regulations, and report to the Ward 2 Alderman on PCO assignments in the Columbia and Norfolk St area.
PCO presence in the area will be assigned as required and necessary. The requested information will be forwarded to the Ward 2 Alderman.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking examine the feasibility of creating a new parking permit for vanpool license plates.
Traffic and Parking has created a parking permit for established/recognized van pools.
