To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request an appropriation of $2,010,673 from the Salary and Wage Stabilization Fund to the Police Department, Other Lump Sum Benefits Account for the purpose of funding salaries and benefits for Police Superior Officers resulting from an award and decision by the Joint Labor Management Committee for Municipal Police and Fire in the matter of arbitration between the City of Somerville and the Somerville Police Superior Officers Association.

This appropriation funds retroactive wage and benefit costs for Fiscal Years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

A separate appropriation has been submitted to adjust the FY2019 Police Budget for the costs directly attributable in FY2019.
