To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request that you approve an appropriation of $30,000 in from the Parks Stabilization Fund for the construction of Chuckie Harris Park.

The new Harris Park at 15-25 Cross Street East is currently scheduled for construction this summer. Excellent recreation facilities and increased green space is a city priority and the renovation of this playground will significantly increase the quality of life for our residents. These funds will be used in combination with a $500,000 PARC grant from the Massachusetts Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, through its Division of Conservation Services, $281,250 required matching City funds.
