To the Honorable City Council:
The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council confirm the appointment of Ellen Ellis as a member of the Council on Aging Board of Directors.
This appointee will fill a position formerly held by Ronnit Prawer.
Ms Ellis has spent her career focused on community service and striving to spearhead programs for the those in need. For the past seven years she has served on the Board of Somerville Cambridge Elder Services, leading the SCES High School Scholarship Giving Program. Ms. Ellis is also a volunteer at SCES's Brown Bag food pantry program and assists in the distribution of the Farmer's Market Coups. Prior, Ms. Ellis directed programming which provided services for elders by contracting with local Aging Service Access Points, Mass Rehab and Veteran's Services. Ms. Ellis is a current participant at the Council on Aging and is an active volunteer at the SCOA Memory Cafe.
