Agenda Item 203840

That the Director of Traffic and Parking consider expanding the required time for notifying neighborhoods of street closures from 48 to 72 hours.

 

T & P will defer to DPW

 

 

Agenda Item 203859

That the Director of Traffic and Parking limit cut through traffic on Hanson Street by installing signage that allows abutters only at 7-9AM and 4-7 PM at identified locations, and ensure that this matter is addressed at the Traffic Commission's next meeting, on July 20, 2017.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking fix the upside down speed limit sign near 125 Central Street.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking install a CAUTION - CHILDREN AT PLAY sign in front of either 7 or 13 Henderson Street.

 

This is a traffic calming request. Will forward to SPCD, Traffic and Infrastructure

That the Director of Traffic and Parking report to this Board on the policies for issuing business parking permits.

 

Streets are surveyed during street cleaning days to ensure there are a minimum of 4 open spaces prior to issuing a business permit.

Applicants must complete application. Spaces may or may not be granted based upon availability.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking place a street cleaning sign at 55 Gilman Street

 

Will review and install a street cleaning sign if required.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking place a blinking STOP sign at Gilman and Aldrich Streets.

 

Need to review to determine if a sign was previously installed. If not when more blinking Stop signs are purchased, will install.

That the Director of Traffic and Parking repair the traffic signal at 66 Beacon Street

 

Traffic signal repair is completed by DPW Lights and Lines Department. Beacon St is under MassDOT construction project. Will forward to MassDOT Resident Engineer.

That the Traffic Commission make Merriam Street a one way street from Somerville Avenue to Charlestown Street.

 

Upon approval of the one-way street designation by the Traffic Commission Merriam Street was changed.
