Be it hereby known to all that the

Somerville Board of Aldermen and Mayor

Offer their sincerest commendations to

 

Dr. James Green

 

Long-time Somerville resident and Professor Emeritus at UMass Boston. Professor Green has dedicated his career to understanding the experiences of American laborers and immigrants, and bringing that history to life with books, films, and exhibits. He has also served as President of Somerville’s Welcome Project.

 

 

The City honors his scholarship and his contributions to the community, and extends its best wishes for ongoing success.
